Welcome to the new homepage of The Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine

SSAI is an umbrella organisation of the national societies of anaesthesiology and intensive care medicine in the five Nordic countries: Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. ACTA Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica is the official journal of the Society. At the moment the impact factor of the journal is 1,84.

My aim, as the new webmaster of the SSAI webpage, is that the webpage at all times shall be updated with information that is short and concise. But to come even close to this goal, I am totally dependant on help from you, the members of the Society. Give input!

Together with the head of the Research committee in SSAI, Anders Åneman, and  with technical support from Expertmaker there is an intention to develop www-based research tools. www-based surveys will be facilitated. I believe that this is exciting, and it will give the members of the Society new research opportunities. I do hope that this tool will promote multicentre studies accross Scandinavia.

These resources, are funded by the SSAI, and research involving all Scandinavian countries will cause a minimal financial burden on individual projects.

Is this of interest to you?

The Committees have needs that still are not ellucidated.  In my opinion only fantasy (and perhaps money) is limiting. I believe, as an inborn optimist, that until proven otherwise nothing is impossible. I assure you that without optimism this webpage project once again will be a failure.
